Vendor: John Carpenter |
|
Early soundtrack from John Carpenter's first film. Dark Star was originally released in 1974 and was a collaborative effort between Carpenter and science fiction and horror screenwriter Dan O'Bannon. What began as a film school project eventually launched Carpenter's career as both a filmmaker and composer. The LP features incidental music, sound effects, John Carpenter's synth experimentations, dialogue excerpts, and vintage interferences extracted directly from the film roll. Accompanying the LP is a beach-ball alien 7" (red with a yellow label circled in black) pressed with three additional tracks, endless loops of sound effects from the movie, and a hidden bonus track. Ten tracks in all. Released by We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records on black vinyl with a bonus colored vinyl 7".
