Originally released in 1991, this year marks the 25th anniversary of Tupac Shakur's debut album, 2Pacalypse Now. Unlike the thug-life-everything tone of his later works (which are great, btw), this certified-classic is heavy on social commentary, as 'Pac shares his sharp views on racism, poverty, teenage pregnancy, and more. The LP also triggered some controversy over its retaliative message against police brutality (then VP Dan Quayle had some choice words for the album), as a Ronald Ray Howard's defense attorney cited 2Pacalypse as an influence in his client's murdering of a Texas state trooper. Must listen tracks: "Trapped," "I Don't Give A Fuck," "If My Homie Calls," "Brenda's Got A Baby," and "Soulja's Story." Gatefold sleeve, 2LP 180g pressing.
