Originally released in 1992, here is a reissue of the 5th album from The Lemonheads. Yes, It's a Shame About Ray is the one with "Mr. Robinson" on it, and the mix of punk, rock, and jangle pop that the LP does so well has stood the test of time. The group had gone through a few lineup changes leading up to this turning point in its career, and It's A Shame… features Juliana Hatfield of Blake Babies on bass/backup vocals and David Ryan on drums. As with previous releases, however, it's Evan Dando's vocals and lyrics that do the heavy lifting on this brief (clocks in at under 30 min.), accessible, and extremely catchy full-length. Songs to check out include: "It's a Shame About Ray," "My Drug Buddy," "Rudderless," "Confetti," and "Bit Part."
