In 1961, Motown released Marvin Gaye's first record, "(I'm Afraid) The Masquerade Is Over," and over the next few decades, the late soul/r&b/funk legend would be responsible for some of the most iconic pop records in history. As a part of its COLLECTED series, Music On Vinyl surveys Gaye's celebrated career, and this fantastic release amasses the most beloved tracks from the singer: "Stubborn Kind of Fellow," "Hitch Hike," "Pride And Joy," "Can I Get A Witness," How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)," "Ain't That Peculiar," and much more. In addition to the Motown classics, Gaye recorded incredible duets alongside Kim Weston ("It Takes Two") and Tammi Terrell ("Ain't No Mountain High Enough"), and he would also begin addressing social issues on masterpieces like "What's Going On," which also enjoyed massive success on the charts. Further, 1968's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," "What's Going On," "Let's Get It On," and "Sexual Healing" are on this 2LP, 180g pressing, and the must-have album also includes a 4-page booklet w/ liner notes.
